Last month we announced that UK users can access apps for the Google Assistant on Google Home and their phones—and starting today, we’re bringing Actions on Google to Australia. From Perth to Sydney, developers can start building apps for the Google Assistant, giving their users even more ways to get things done.

What is Action on Google

Actions on Google lets you build apps for the Google Assistant. Your apps can help you engage users through Google Home, eligible Android phones, iPhones, and in the future, through every experience where the Google Assistant is available.

Benefits

Launching of Action on Google will help Australian users to use Google Assistance in their own language/Accent with available local dictionary. Also, they will have following benefits

  • New TTS voices: There are number of TTS Voices with an Australian accent. User will be allowed to select his current english by going to action console.
  • Practice makes perfect: Launching will help Australian user to use it in more localized manner. As in every country not only accent but words may also be changed according to their culture like candy should be lollies and servo is a gas station. Australian dictionary has also accommodated all those changes.

Google has also updated developer tools, documentation and simulator so that Australian user can easily create, test and deploy apps.

He wrote — “UK and Aussie users are just the start, we’ll continue to make the Actions on Google platform available in more languages over the coming year.”

Google has already launched Action on Google specific to UK.
