Instagram implements one click Audio ON/OFF for every video

Instagram

Automatic audio ON can be very annoying for any user at public place. But instagram finds a middle way to  implement it.

Recently, tech website TechCrunch reported and confirmed with Instagram that “this new update rolled out recently”.

Feature is also confirmed by SPOKEN by YOU team using my account.

When you open Instagram app the videos in your feed will auto played but by default sound will be turned off. But, if you turn on the sound for one video (taping speaker icon on left) it will be turned ON for rest of the videos in your feed. Again, if you turn it OFF will be off for subsequent videos.

So, whichever volume option you will select that will remain for all the videos in your feed throughout the session until you will close the app. Next time when you will open the app you will find the volume turned OFF.

Instagram assumes that, if you are turning the audio ON means you either alone or having headphones connected with your phone and you are doing it without disturbing anyone.

About Instagram

Instagram, launched in 2010 as photo sharing network, later Facebook bought Instagram for $1 billion in cash and stock. Video has grown in popularity as cameras, screens, and mobile networks improve. While Instagram doesn’t want to annoy it’s users, it can’t be a social network of the future if it stays silent.
