Gmail today rolling out one important feature today for Android, iOS and web that all the addresses, email addresses and contacts into Email will be converted to link. The idea behind the feature is to save copy paste time from gmail to other apps.
The update was announced in G-Suit blog
Gmail users often exchange information like addresses and phone numbers with each other to set up meetings, introduce colleagues, and plan events. Precious time can be lost by having to copy and paste this information from an email into other apps and websites, so we wanted to provide a better way to perform these tasks that also saves time. That’s why starting today, Gmail and Inbox by Gmail on Android, iOS, and the web will begin converting text to interactive hyperlinks whenever they detect phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses in emails.
How it works
When user clicks on Address, it will redirect to Map to show the location. Clicking email will open new compose dialog and clicking phone number will open Phone app in your phone.
This will be fully rollout for all the users within1–3 days.
