Google updating search within folder capability for Google Drive

Google is empowering its user more and more giving them more features in its product. It Adds capability for search with in a specific folder to ensure that search result don’t look messy.

To use this functionality you just need to right click on any folder with in Google Drive and click on “Search within [folder name]” (which is recently added). After clicking on the “Search within [folder name]” it is added in top bar as “Searching in [Folder name]”, with only those files popping up in results.

This new functionality will save lots of time which user spends looking the exact files name with in messy search result.

Google has ensured that Only folders that are within your My Drive or within Team Drives can be searched; if you have a folder that is shared with you, first add the folder to your My Drive.

Additionally, users can access this localized search by clicking the search bar and selecting the folder you want from the Location menu.

It is not clear that this feature will come on mobile apps or not. But this will be available to all G Suite editions and may take time upto 15 days to fully rollout.
