Instagram has launched an alpha testing program for Android and iOS users especially for those who wanted test pre-release features on these platforms. If you are a testing geek or you want to know about the new features coming before its release, its golden opportunity for you.

Instagram is running beta testing program from couple of years and features like like account switching and multi-photo album posts were made their debut in beta program.

The program was first spotted by Android police on reddit from an instagram employee, the post was later removed. The information was also posted in Google group which is still working and having details on it with a link to join Alpha program.

The Alpha testing app will be a different app from Instagram which will have upcoming features that is not available in stable Instagram app. Tech website Tech Crunch confirmed the news from Instagram spokesperson and they replied —

“We recently introduced Alpha programs for our iOS and Android versions of Instagram in addition to the Beta program we’ve had on Android for awhile,” they said. These programs are “a great way to collect feedback from the community,” they added.

However, today social media companies are launching user testing program to know the user’s feedback. Facebook launched its own pre-release program back in 2013. Other major tech companies, including Twitter and Google, run programs of their own, as well.
