Intel is working on reducing the complexity of IoT development 1

Intel, a company that always work beyond the conventional boundaries with some new thoughts and developments. Now, it is working hard to revamp the IoT Roadmap to Benefit Developers and Integrators. This will help developers and integrators to make the prototype faster that define a path for those prototypes to the market.

“The Intel Internet of Things Group has been talking to a lot of developers and partners in the IoT ecosystem – and listening carefully. The result is we’ve completely revamped our roadmaps for developer tools and IoT solution resources to create a more seamless experience across the ecosystem.” — said Jonathan Luse, General manager of IoT Planning and Product Line Management at Intel Corporation.

This new ecosystem contains some new Ingredients viz hardware, toolsets, kits, and SDKs. that will enable users to accelerate the development and streamline the development path from prototype to production by integrating new features and capabilities.

Intel is having  Intel FPGAs and Movidius Myriad 2 VPUs components that will be showcased. These components provide power-efficient acceleration to critical edge applications.

Intel has Exor Smart Factory 4.0 demo models an entire working industrial system using Intel FPGA devices for device control in Edge-compatible formats. Myriad 2 gives developers immediate access to its advanced vision processing core while allowing them to develop proprietary capabilities that provide true differentiation.

To boost the development and accelerate the product performance Intel has consolidated necessary toolsets into Intel System studio. This is an all-in-one, cross-platform tool suite, purpose-built to simplify system bring-up and improve system and IoT device application performance on Intel platforms. The key features of Intel System studio are as follows

  • Speed time-to-market: Ready-to-use, domain-specific routines, and system-wide visual performance analysis quickly identify issues and reduce optimization time.
  • Boost performance and power efficiency: Platform-tuned libraries and compilers help optimize software on Intel® architecture. Actionable data uncovers power issues.
  • Strengthen system reliability: In-depth debugging, tracing, and analyzing capabilities identify elusive issues and deliver deep platform insights.

It has access to over 400 sensors, enhanced debugger workflows that automate tracing, additional libraries and code samples including Intel Data Analytics Acceleration Library, improved data compression and optimizations for small matrix multiplication, support for the latest Intel processors and a download functionality that now enables developers to configure their tool suite.

Intel also provides Intel IoT RFP-Ready Kits, that help developers to accelerate development with the help of bundle hardware, middleware, software, sensors, and support. These kits contain the core essentials an integrator needs to prototype quickly. They just require any unique differentiating features.

Apart from all the above tools and kits, Intel provides built-to-scale Market-Ready Solutions (MRS). Through the ecosystem partners, Intel is providing an extensive portfolio of proven, integrated and already-deployed MRSs.
