Nest, a subsidiary company of Alphabet inc, has came up with some smart home IoT based solutions. Their most important product i.e. Nest Learning Thermostat is in it’s 3rd generation. That has a big ring and a big sharp display with it. You can control the temperature moving the ring around it.
In some days it picks your schedule to control the temperature automatically. Suppose 8:30 AM is time to go out, Nest will record the time and it will set the temperature automatically at 8:30 AM.
Now, 6:00 PM is time to come home, you can set the temperature before coming home using your mobile device and then it will record your schedule and set the temperature automatically.
The Nest Learning Thermostat is the first thermostat to get ENERGY STAR certified. It learns what temperature you like and builds a schedule around yours. Since 2011, the Nest Thermostat has saved billions of kWh of energy in millions of homes worldwide.* And independent studies showed that it saved people an average of 10% to 12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills. So in under two years, it can pay for itself.

Nest thermostat also plays very important role in home safety when it works with Nest Protect. Suppose, while heating the room, heater could be a source of carbon monoxide or it could spread smoke into your home. Nest Protect can tell your Nest Thermostat to turn off the heat. If Nest Protect detects smoke, your Nest Thermostat can turn off the fan.
