NVidia and VW teaming for intelligent Co-Pilot

Artificial intelligence is burning topic today. Every business today is curious to know the impact of Artificial Intelligence on it. Especially automobile industry is working to adapt it to make future transport. Autonomous cars are one of the most suitable example of AI in automobile, so as Intelligent Co-Pilot.

Volkswagen has been talking about its Intelligent Co-Pilot system in last CES. Now this year it joined hands with Nvidia to work on this technology for future vehicles. Nvidia will also power new I.D. Buzz by VW.

This AI will be based on Nvidia Drive IX platform which include the features like face recognition based door unlocking, gesture based cockpit control, natural language speech processing and monitoring attention and distraction of driver to make safe driving.

“Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the car,” Herbert Diess, Volkswagen CEO said. “Autonomous driving, zero-emission mobility and digital networking are virtually impossible without advances in AI and deep learning. Combining the imagination of Volkswagen with NVIDIA, the leader in AI technology, enables us to take a big step into the future.”

“In just a few years, every new vehicle will be expected to have AI assistants for voice, gesture and facial recognition as well as augmented reality,” Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO said. “Volkswagen’s work with NVIDIA DRIVE IX technology will make that a reality. Together, we are building a new generation of cars that are safer, more enjoyable to ride in than anything that has come before, and accessible to everyone.”

It will collect data from inside and outside car to make the driver attentive. The systems can be enhanced throughout the life of the vehicle via software updates, and can gain new capabilities as further developments are made in autonomous driving.
