Google announced a new way to online payment that is called Pay with Google. This enables user a faster way to checkout. The core concept behind this payment system is to reduce the checkout time while user is on the way to purchase something.

The announcement was made by Pali Bhat, VP of Product Management, Payments in a blog post where he described that sometime user need to fill long form or sometimes when payment is being made, session timeout occurs. Pay with Google will solve all this problem. Because, you don’t need to fill a single form but Google will check your Debit/Credit card mapping with any of its products like like Google Play, YouTube, Chrome or Android Pay. Google will just send the user detail to merchant and merchant will process the payment.

Google has partnered with over 40 payment providers to make the payment gateway integration easy for the merchants. These payment providers include — Braintree, Stripe, Vantiv, Worldpay, Adyen, and Groupe Paysafe. And, Many more in pipeline to adopt like ACI, Assist, Ebanx, First Data, Global Payments, GMO, IMSolutions, and TapPay.

Google has also released Payment API to make integration simple without any cost and released developer doc to help developers to implement with only few lines of codes.

Many of the merchants has adopted Pay with Google including Doordash, Eat24, Instacart, Kayak, Postmates, Wish etc. But, many more including Airbnb, Papa John’s, StubHub, Deliveroo etc. are yet to come onboard but they are coming soon. Google has released a list of merchants those adopted the fast checkout feature and those who are yet to adopt.
